Simba Safari Grill is a catering company operating in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Initially operating as A Touch of Africa, Simba Safari Grill has been in the catering business for more than 9 years. We have catered for different types of events including wedding socials, weddings, community events/conferences, anniversary parties etc. The acquisition of a newly built, fully equipped mobile kitchen in 2014 enabled us to better serve our customers..
We operate our food truck during the spring and summer seasons, participating in many fairs and festivals within Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Some of these include Cathedral Festival (Regina), Folk Fest (Winnipeg), Canada Day Street Celebration (Winnipeg), JazzFest (Winnipeg), Harvest Sun Music Festival (Kelwood) and Manyfest (Winnipeg).
We specialize in African-inspired dishes, but we also provide home-made North American dishes, such as burgers, soups and salads. Our African dishes are made with authentic Kenyan and African spices and seasonings. Our seasonings are not spicy in taste, but in flavor. From our state-of-the-art mobile kitchen.
The Owner-Operators of Simba Safari Grill are Dora and Isaac Gwendo. Dora Gwendo has a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Johnson & Wales University (Providence, Rhode Island). Dora has a passion for cooking and has been providing catering services for many years.
